2 Cor 1:12
...our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity , not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

2 Cor 2:17
...we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity , but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

Phil 1:10-11
...that ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Phil 1:15-16
...some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
the one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely...

1 Peter 2:2-3
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

The Eye... A Window Of The Soul
By Henry Friesen

The motive in writing this article is to challenge Christians of all "styles" in our attitude and purity of heart, as to what we are willing to allow ourselves to look at and view with our eyes, as we travel the vast world of the Internet.

What are you, dear reader, willing to put up with, so that you may participate in the online world? This question deserves a lot of consideration and meditation. Not only the question, but your answer. What are you willing to allow your eyes to land upon? To view? To see?

Psalm 101:3
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes : I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

Psalm 119:37
Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.

It seems that we have entered an age and era of Christianity that has forgotten so many of the counsels of God's Word, that these considerations likewise, have altogether been found to be wanting. Todays style of Christianity is a rather unusual one. While we claim to love Jesus, boast in our Greek studies, claim to deeply understand the Word of God and it's warning against legalism and religiosity, we find that women are lost in a world of make believe as they pattern themselves after the sensual world of Hollywood, after the world of fashion and after every other kind of thought, method imagination that in someway carries the only purpose of exalting themselves in the face of other women and men. Men of the same "Christian" caliber, are busy "working for the Master" while they indulge in this public display of provocative fashion, thinking that a little here and a little there never hurt anyone, until they are in bondage again. (if they ever were free, most professors of Christianity today won't stay free)

What is wrong church of Christ?!

Have we succumbed to so much of North American paganism? Perhaps you say, "Paganism?, you're crazy!"

What else, tell Christ, is it? Really... consider for a few moments, the heart behind the pagan worship of the days of old.

Is it Christ alive in the hearts of men and women that produce this fruit?

Our conviction is that no man or woman that has these unholy and unlawful desires in this area of life, should even be online. But we then come to those who by the resurrection power of Christ have received grace, strength and new life and these passions are put down, subdued and rendered dead or inoperable. Should we be careless, knowing that this whole realm of passions and lusts and human exaltation is all around us and more than available online? Is it not, more than available online? It calls for attention on millions of pages. It is mingled with important information, with helpful information even Christian information. Imagine that! The spirit of harlotry, mingled with Christianity?! How careful should we be with our eyes... for the eyes transfer this to the mind. Is it possible, in this area of holiness and heart purity, to be too careful? Maybe... but we're nowhere near that.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Having said all this we want to share with you what we have done to make the online experience a more comfortable one. We use to use Character Link for a web filter but they sold or joined with someone else and then they sold a product called B-Safe. At the time, B-safe was a human filter and everything was moved into categories. The B-Safe filter was "looser" than the former Character Link and after seeing what  we felt was too much, just the provocative fashions as they have become less decent, we began to look for something better.
We tried a few different Christian web filters and kind of got tired of it and just sort of settled on Hedge Builders. We knew that we wouldn't be satisfied with that either so we looked into some other options. That's is when we switched from the Avante Browser, to Firefox and added in some of the available options.
Add Block Plus
- with a subscription to Ricks Easy List (USA) - this takes care of a whole mess of ads that would otherwise show up on your screen. Here you can further add any media that you feel you would like blocked in 2 clicks.

Image Like Opera
- has 4 settings that again are used with a click of the mouse. We have ours set by default to No Images. When we get to a page, if it seems like we can't browse without enabling some pictures, then we move up one setting etc. If we aren't sure about the site, and we can read all the information that we need or are looking for, we often don't even enable the pictures.

Flash Block
- This has settings as well and we have ours set again to block all flash content by default.

Flash Killer
- The above mentioned Flash Block occasionally misses some flash content, so if one is a bit careful and aware as he moves into a new site or page, just clicking this button will clean up anything that Flash block might miss.

Our feelings about all this are not that these things are a form of salvation or victory, but we try to live in the breath of the scriptures in whatever we are doing and this one area, the one of being online is a very devastating and destructive one if not taken seriously.

You can choose to upgrade like we have and add to these free addons, Hedge Builders or B-Safe or something like that as well. Research into paid filtering software is definitely recommended but as for these free ones that we will get into, they are a must!
